What is the DQ381?
The DQ381 is the newer Volkswagen Group 7-speed DSG with two wet clutches, built since 2017 for transverse engines up to 2.0 litres and up to 420 Nm. It replaced the 6-speed DQ250 in many models and is coded 0GC.
Front-wheel-drive and 4Motion versions exist. The DQ380 (0DE), used mainly in China-market cars, shares many parts such as the TCU 0DE927711 and the clutch pressure sensor kit 0DE325467. Clutches and mechatronic run in one oil circuit, so regular fluid and filter changes matter.

DQ381 questions
01Is the DQ381 the same as the DQ380?
They are close relatives and share many parts, such as the TCU 0DE927711 and the clutch pressure sensor kit 0DE325467, but they are not identical gearboxes. Send us the number on your old part and we confirm the match before you pay.
02Can I replace only the pressure sensors instead of the whole mechatronic?
Often yes. If one half of the gearbox (odd or even gears) drops out and the codes point to clutch pressure, the sensor kit is the cheaper repair. If the valve body is worn or the TCU has failed, a complete mechatronic unit is the safer fix.
03Is adaptation needed after replacement?
Yes. After a mechatronic, TCU or clutch replacement the gearbox needs basic settings with a diagnostic tool such as ODIS or VCDS. A used or remanufactured TCU may also need coding to the car.
04What is the minimum order and warranty?
