What is the DPS6?
The DPS6 is a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox with two dry clutches, rated up to about 250 Nm for engines up to 2.0 litres. Ford fitted it from 2010 to 2018, mainly to the Focus 3 and Fiesta 6, and the same Getrag design is used by Renault as the DC4.
The best-known faults are TCM failure at low mileage and clutch judder or slipping. Many DPS6 repairs combine a new TCM, clutch kit, actuator motors and shift fork kit, plus a fix for any rear crankshaft seal leak that contaminates the clutches.

FAQ
DPS6 questions
01Should I replace the TCM and clutch together?
Only if both are faulty. A failed TCM usually shows as no drive or stuck in neutral; judder is usually the clutch. If the clutch is oil-contaminated, fix the leaking seal at the same time.
02Does a new TCM need programming?
Yes. A replacement TCM must be programmed to the car with Ford IDS/FDRS or an equivalent tool, then the clutch must be relearned.
03Do Renault DC4 parts interchange?
Many internal parts are shared, but TCMs and some clutches differ. Send the part number from your old part and we confirm.
04What is the minimum order and warranty?
One piece. Warranty depends on the part and condition and is written on your quotation.
